Project Spotlight! Interior Painting in Nashville, TN
A gorgeous, full interior repaint…
The only thing better than painting one room? Painting ALL the rooms. In this case we painted the living room, dining room, kitchen, hall, office, stairwells, laundry room, bathrooms, bedrooms, and a bonus room. We also painted the trim (baseboards, stringers, molding, etc.), plus doors and frames.
Our client chose a gorgeous palette, including:

What’s the best sheen for interior painting?
It varies quite a bit depending on your space and aesthetic goals. We chose a satin sheen for these rooms since we knew they would see a lot of use. Just a notch higher than eggshell on the “glossy” scale, satin offers a vibrant finish without being overtly shiny. It’s also very durable and washable - perfect for busy rooms that will collect scuffs and bumps down the road.
While paint has come a long way in the strength department, a good rule of thumb is to remember that the higher the gloss the paint is, the stronger and harder the finish will be. Keep in mind too that shinier paint is less forgiving, meaning that more surface prep is required.

Interior painting Q&A
You’ve likely got questions, and we’ve definitely got answers. Here are a few of the most common interior painting questions we encounter.
Q. How long does interior paint last?
It all depends on the product you use and the time you invest in preparation. Here at Nash Painting, most of our jobs last a decade before they need to be repainted thanks to the high-quality interior paint we use.
Q. Do I need to paint my ceiling too?
You don’t have to, but it often makes sense to paint your ceiling at the same time. It all depends on how it looks, and we can help you make that determination during your in-person painting estimate.
Q. How do I pick an interior paint color?
There are a LOT of options - we get it! You can always begin with researching popular interior paint colors on the internet, or by using tools like Sherwin-Williams’ ColorSnap Visualizer. If you’re really stumped, let us know! We can connect you with professional color and design services to help you maximize this opportunity.
Q. Should I hire a painter or do it myself?
It comes down to your budget, how much you value your time, and how you want your project to look. An untrained do-it-yourselfer simply won’t be able to match the skill and craftsmanship of a professional paint job, and it’s important to realize that up front. Plus, interior painting takes a lot more time than people realize.
