Franklin, just south of Brentwood, has a historic downtown and a lot of newer construction, and the two need different prep. We paint in Downtown Franklin, Westhaven, Cool Springs and beyond: interiors, exteriors, cabinets and doors.

Painting homes in Franklin

Franklin's homes run the full range. Brick and clapboard from 1799 ring the Public Square; late-1980s neighborhoods like Fieldstone Farms are now due for their second or third repaint; and 2000s–2010s master-planned communities like Westhaven and Berry Farms went up in painted brick and fiber-cement siding. Few Middle Tennessee markets ask a painter to move between historic restoration and fresh new-construction finishes the way Franklin does.

Inside

Inside, the split is just as wide. Downtown's older homes have plaster walls and trim that reward patient prep and a steady hand, while the newer communities are drywall with the open kitchens and built-ins that make cabinet refinishing and trim work the most-requested interior jobs in town.

Outside

Outdoors, Franklin hands you brick, fiber-cement (Hardie), and historic wood clapboard, all under full Tennessee sun and summer humidity. Several of its planned communities, including McKay's Mill, Westhaven, and Fieldstone Farms, run active HOAs with color-approval rules, which are worth checking before a repaint is scheduled.

Franklin neighborhoods we know

Historic Downtown Franklin
Founded in 1799 and carefully preserved since the 1960s, downtown is full of 19th- and early-20th-century homes in districts like Hincheyville and Adams Street. That means patient prep, clapboard and trim repair, and period-appropriate color, not a quick coat over old paint.
Westhaven
A 1,500-acre planned community built since 2003, Westhaven's neo-traditional homes are heavy on front porches and painted fiber-cement. The early sections are now hitting their first real repaint, and porch ceilings and trim are where the detail shows.
Fieldstone Farms
One of Franklin's largest neighborhoods, developed in 1987 across 26 sections and more than 2,100 homes. These are mature houses with aging wood trim and dated interiors, ready for exterior repaints and interior color refreshes.
McKay's Mill
A 2000s planned community of 14 sections with a very active HOA. Homes here are reaching their second exterior cycle.
Berry Farms
A walkable, mostly-2010s community built around the preserved 1800s Rural Plains homestead: new-construction interiors and exteriors with modern palettes, with the occasional historic detail next door.
Cool Springs
Part district, part neighborhood: 1990s homes alongside the corporate corridor anchored by the Galleria and Nissan's headquarters, where the work splits between commercial repaints and residential refreshes.
