Painting homes in Nolensville

Nolensville was platted in 1797 and stayed a small farm town until it reincorporated in 1996, which set off the building boom that defines its housing today. A handful of pre-1900 structures still stand near the downtown core, including the 1810 Sherwood Green House, but most of the town is subdivision homes raised since the late 1990s in painted brick, fiber-cement siding, and stained wood. Stonebrook alone spans 1979 to 2022, so a single street can hold a forty-year-old house beside one barely cured. That spread (a few genuinely old homes against a wall of new-construction builder-grade finishes) is what sets painting here apart.

Inside

Most Nolensville interiors are drywall in homes built since 2015 (Scales Farmstead, Telfair, Summerlyn, the Burkitt-branded neighborhoods), finished fast by production builders in flat builder-grade paint that scuffs and won't take a clean wipe. Those walls are now due for their first real repaint with a washable finish, plus the open-kitchen cabinet and trim work that comes with these floor plans. In the older pockets (Stonebrook, McFarlin Woods, and the few homes near the historic core), we slow down for plaster, dated texture, and older trim.

Outside

Outside you'll find painted brick, fiber-cement (Hardie), and wood trim under full Tennessee sun, and the upper-end neighborhoods lean heavily on all-brick: Telluride, Pasadena, Sinatra, and Kingsbarns were built almost entirely in brick, where the work is often limewash or a breathable masonry coating rather than a straight repaint. Many of these communities run HOAs with exterior color rules (at the Cottages at Bent Creek, the HOA actually covers exterior maintenance), so owners there should get color approval sorted before booking. The first wave of 2007–2013 homes in Nolen Park, Sunset Park, and Catalina is now hitting its first full exterior cycle.

Nolensville neighborhoods we know

Scales Farmstead
A master-planned community off Clovercroft Road built from 2017 onward by a long roster of production and semi-custom builders: Drees, Pulte, Turnberry, David Weekley and more. Mixed builders means mixed builder-grade finishes, and the earliest sections are now ready for their first interior repaint and a finish that holds up better than the original flat coat.
Burkitt Place
A large 2007-era community straddling the Williamson and Davidson county line, with varied architectural styles and brick-and-fiber-cement exteriors. The oldest homes here are well into their second decade, so most are due their first or second exterior repaint.
The Cottages at Bent Creek
A 55-and-over enclave of attached homes from around 2015 where the HOA covers exterior maintenance and landscaping. That makes color matching and HOA-compliant exterior work the norm.
Telluride
An upscale community at Sunset Road and Split Log Road built in all-brick on half-acre-plus lots. All-brick means the exterior question is usually limewash or a breathable masonry coating over properly cleaned and primed brick, not a quick painted-on finish that traps moisture.
Stonebrook
One of the few neighborhoods with real age range, built from 1979 to 2022 off Nolensville Pike. The older homes carry dated trim, aging caulk, and older substrates that call for careful prep. It's a different job entirely from the new construction down the street.
Sherwood Green
A 77-home community built from 2015 across the street from Nolensville Elementary, named for an early landowner; the 1810 Sherwood Green House still stands at the entrance as a registered historic place. New-construction interiors and exteriors, with a genuine piece of the town's history at the gate.
