Painting homes in Lebanon

Lebanon's housing runs from the brick and masonry storefronts around the Public Square (a National Register historic commercial district built mostly between the 1880s and 1930s) out to the mid-century brick ranches of Blair Lane and the 1970s homes of Kontiki Estates, then on to the golf-course customs of Five Oaks, the low-maintenance villas of StoneBridge, and gated new construction like The Reserve at Horn Springs. The older square and the streets near Cumberland University bring plaster, painted masonry, and old paint layers that call for careful prep; the newer Wilson County subdivisions are drywall inside and brick or fiber-cement out. Add Lebanon's hot, humid summers and the open sun on the newer developments, and a painter here moves between careful historic work and durable new-construction finishes within the same week.

Inside

Inside, the range is wide. The mid-century homes on Blair Lane (1955–1973) and the 1970s houses in Kontiki Estates carry older trim, the occasional plaster wall, and decades of paint layers. That calls for patient, careful prep, not a quick recoat. The newer builds in Five Oaks, StoneBridge, and The Reserve at Horn Springs are open-plan drywall with tall ceilings and custom kitchens, where cabinet refinishing, crisp trim, and skim-coated walls are the jobs people ask for most.

Outside

Outside, Lebanon hands you brick, fiber-cement, and older painted wood under full Tennessee sun and summer humidity. The custom homes in Five Oaks sit on open golf-course lots that take steady UV, while StoneBridge villas and townhomes run HOA exterior-maintenance rules we work within. The brick-and-Craftsman homes in The Reserve at Horn Springs and the aging wood trim on 1987 Fairways at Lebanon houses each need a different exterior system, and the older homes on Blair Lane get careful washing and prep before any coat goes on.

Lebanon neighborhoods we know

Downtown Lebanon (Public Square)
The Public Square is a National Register historic commercial district, with architecture running from the late 1880s to the 1930s around the Wilson County Courthouse. That means painted masonry, plaster, period-appropriate color, and careful prep on storefronts and upper-floor spaces. It's finish work done without shutting a business down.
Five Oaks
An upscale golf community established in 2001 around an 18-hole course, Five Oaks runs larger custom homes on open, sun-exposed lots with an active club and HOA. Many are now hitting their first or second exterior cycle, and the full-sun exposure is hard on south- and west-facing siding and trim.
StoneBridge
A Goodall Homes community from the early 2010s built for one-level, low-maintenance living: single-family homes, villas, and townhomes where HOA fees cover exterior upkeep. We work within those HOA rules on color and exterior maintenance, and the lock-and-leave villa owners value clean, durable trim.
Kontiki Estates
A 1970s neighborhood off Hunters Point Pike, with most homes built between 1974 and 1979, typically 3-bedroom, 1,400–2,400-square-foot houses. Decades of paint layers mean careful prep, inside and out, on these mature homes.
Blair Lane
A mid-century neighborhood with homes built between 1955 and 1973 on tree-lined streets, many without an HOA. These older houses carry aging wood trim and old finishes, so careful prep comes before any exterior or interior repaint.
The Reserve at Horn Springs
A gated community of newer homes built between 2015 and 2023, with traditional brick exteriors and Craftsman and Colonial detailing. New-construction interiors and exteriors with luxury finishes: tall ceilings, custom kitchens, and brick-and-trim color work that suits the architecture.
