Stained wood doors

We strip, sand and restain wood front doors where they hang, then build new clear coats. How door refinishing works

Stained wood door packages

A package covers the outside face of the door and the trim right around it. Every package includes extra sanding on the lower part of the front door. The inside face isn't included.

  • Main stained door

One front door. The high end allows for a pair of sidelights.

    $1,300 to $1,700
  • Main door plus 1 or 2 more

2 or 3 stained doors at the same home, in all

    $1,600 to $2,300
  • Main door plus 3 to 5 more

4 to 6 stained doors at the same home, in all

    $2,100 to $3,100
  • Main door plus 6 to 11 more

7 to 12 stained doors at the same home, in all

    $3,000 to $4,800
  • Sidelight or transom add-on

Glass panels beside or above the door

    Priced at your estimate

We refinish in the same stain color. A badly worn door, or one that needs a full restoration, gets a closer look from one of our estimators.

Why two houses cost differently

Prep
Most of a paint job is prep: filling, sanding, caulking and priming. The more a surface needs, the closer it sits to the high end.
Condition
Peeling, cracking or water-stained surfaces take more work than sound ones. Wood rot is separate carpentry, priced with photos, and nothing goes ahead until you approve it.
Colors
A big color change, or a deep color going light, can need a primer or an extra coat. So can several colors in one room.
Height
Tall ceilings, stairwells and second or third stories need ladders, planks or lifts, and they take longer.

Common questions

Why do you show ranges instead of one number?
Every house is different. A range shows where a job like yours is likely to land. Your estimator sees the work, then writes your price.
Where will my price land in the range?
It depends on prep, condition, colors and height. A sound surface in a color close to what's there now sits toward the low end. A surface that needs a lot of prep, or a big color change, sits toward the high end.
Which package are these ranges for?
Our Premium package. Your written bid names the package and its warranty term.
Do you take a deposit?
No. There is no deposit. You pay when the job is done, and you can hold back up to 20% of the price for any unresolved quality issue until we fix it.
Can you change the color of my stained door?
We refinish stained wood doors in the same stain color. We can't promise a color change, even with a full restoration.
Can I get a price without a visit?
For smaller jobs, yes. Tell Emma, our AI assistant, about the job and get your price right in the chat. If it needs a closer look, she passes it to one of our estimators.
